May 28, 2026 – Spring Event and Tour (Portage La Prairie, Manitoba)

We are very pleased to announce that this year’s Spring Tour/Event will take place on May 28, 2026 in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.

The event will feature morning presentations, networking lunch and a tour of  the Portage and District Recycling (PDRI) facility.

The Agenda for the event is as follows:

10:00am Registration Opens – Networking (coffee and sweets provided)
10:30am Welcome & Greetings

Presentations:

  • City of Portage La Prairie – Our community’s recycling and waste management initiatives – successes, challenges and goals ahead.
  • Portage and District Recycling Inc (PDRI) – Sharing insights and knowledge from 35 years of regional recycling experience and success.
  • Catapult Environmental a circular approach to dealing with organic waste. Information presentation on Catapult’s integrated composting and digestion facility and plans for transforming municipal organic waste into agricultural compost through a process that also generates Renewable Natural Gas (RNG).
  • News and updates on recycling and waste issues in Manitoba (presenters tbd)

October 14-15, 2026 – MARR Forum

Mark your calendars! The 2026 MARR Forum will take place on October 14-15, 2026. The conference will again be held in Winnipeg at CanadInns Destination Centre Polo Park. We will start publishing details later this spring. Mark your calendars now and plan to join us for another conference full of learning and sharing!
